FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all “bone cracking” the same?
No, they are not. Delivering a proper Gonstead Chiropractic adjustment requires extensive knowledge and training. Getting manipulated by non-certified individuals may cost more harm than good to the joint. There are many self-claimed Chiropractors who does not have proper education and we strongly recommend you to verify that for yourself. Well, If you happen to see individuals performing the same manipulation over and over to everyone without assessments, you might have to think twice. All Chiropractors in Aligned graduates from university and received certification from established educational facility. Our team of passionate Chiropractors constantly improve their skills and knowledge by intensive practice and continuous education courses to ensure the best quality of treatment can be provided to the public.
What kinds of services does Aligned provide?
Aligned strives to provide the best holistic care to your spine by utilizing Gonstead Chiropractic system. The Gonstead Concept of chiropractic begins with a basic biomechanical principle of physics. Every engineer, architect, builder and carpenter knows the importance of a proper foundation in constructing a building, for this insures durability and long life. Any slight change or shift in the foundation can cause a great amount of deviation in the top part of the structure and, perhaps, ultimately, its collapse. The body’s foundation is formed by the pelvic girdle. When the pelvic girdle or any of the vertebrae (bones making up the spinal column) become tilted or rotated out of their proper position, dramatic changes may occur in the body. With that principle, we follow a strict protocol to ensure fastest and safest results for you. Our highly trained Chiropractors will assess your spine thoroughly including the application of X-Rays and detecting segmental temperature difference at your spine by using instruments. Yes, we will provide detailed explanations regarding your condition because we cares enough to make sure you understand the status of your spinal health. Most important of all, once we have identified the problem, we will deliver specific spinal adjustment as well as the necessary lifestyle modifications to help re-aligning your spine.
Can you fix my slipped disc?
Yes, we can. We have helped countless patients with slipped discs in the past, with most of them getting relief with their symptoms. However, a proper Chiropractic assessment must be conducted beforehand to determine the root cause of your condition.
Do I need an X-ray?
It depends on the case. The attending Chiropractor will assess your condition, then decide on X-rays, when a proper treatment plan has been established. When administering adjustments, it is always best to be able to see the bone that the chiropractor intends on adjusting. To see is to know, not to see is to guess. And at Aligned, we don’t guess with your health.
Should I bring my X-ray over?
Please do. More information is always welcomed at Aligned. However, if you have never had an X-ray or any films prior to your consultation, please allow our chiropractors to assess your condition before getting any form of radiography (X-ray, MRI, etc.) taken.
Can you help with scoliosis?
We have helped patients with their scoliosis in the past. However, no patient’s case is ever the same, every spine is a unique individual. Therefore, a Chiropractic assessment is recommended to determine the main cause of the problem.
Can you help me with knee pain or shoulder pain?
Yes, we can. Besides the spine, the Chiropractors at Aligned are also experts in assessing joints such as the knee, shoulder, ankle, wrists, etc. If it is a joint, we are able to assess it.
How many sessions do I need?
As mentioned prior, no patient’s case is ever the same as another. Therefore, the amount of times a Chiropractic adjustment must be delivered differs with each case as well. Factors such as patient age, lifestyle and injury chronicity plays a role as well.
Should I get a check-up even if I do not have symptoms?
On a day to day basis, our spinal structures are placed under constant stress from our daily activities (Exercise, sitting, lifting, etc) When a joint is in use, there is always a chance of small injuries that may not present with symptoms in the early stages. As Chiropractors, we advocate that prevention is better than cure. Therefore, it is advisable that we go through regular check-ups in order to find these small issues before they become a more problematic, symptomatic condition.
Are Chiropractic adjustments painful?
Very unlikely. When Chiropractors deliver our adjustments, we are pushing the bone to its intended location. Therefore, not much force is required to adjust the bone. However, depending on the case, some soreness after the adjustment may be present. Rest assured, it doesn’t last, and we have ways to help alleviate it as well.
I’m pregnant, is Chiropractic suitable for me?
Absolutely!! A pregnant woman’s spinal structure goes through large amounts of pressure due to accommodate the growing baby and that can be an uncomfortable process. Chiropractic is able to help future mothers that are in pain, making the pregnancy a more tolerable process.
